Am I denying Jesus Christ? 🧐

The worst thing a christian can do on this earth is to deny Jesus Christ, to disown his Lordship and authority over their lives. Denying Christ is more than just not confessing that he is Lord , but it also has to do with how we live our lives. In other words, we must acknowledge him in words and our actions. Whenever the verse mention below came up, you can scroll down to read it, it’s in red, I would proudly admit, “no I would never deny Jesus”, sound familiar, yep, Peter said the same words right before he denied Jesus. So imagine me being confident in my own wisdom, claiming I would never do such thing and then realizing that my lifestyle was doing the opposite. Yep, I denied my savior, my friend, Jesus Christ by the way I was living. It was an emotional day, I must admit but I hope this post can shine some light and help you in your walk with Christ. Here are three ways a person can deny Jesus Christ publicly on earth.

Matthew 10: 32-33 “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

  • To deny Jesus is to claim that he is not the Holy One of God ( Mark 1:23-24) , he is not the son of God, the Messiah, the Christ. —- I knew of Jesus but I didn’t truly understand who he really was, until I started reading my bible for myself.
  • To deny Jesus is to not live and walk as he did. (I John 2:6). Jesus came to reedem us, to give us the right to become the children of God, so if we are not living and walking as he did then we have not been truly become the children of God. —-I didn’t believe that I can live for God, or that the Holy Spirit can help me to turn away from my sin .
  • To deny Jesus is to not have love for other believers. ( John 13:35), Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he told his disciples that the world would know that they are his based on how they love one another. Love fulfill the law and without love we will not be able to truly serve God and each other.—-My life was about me, my self-centered gospel lifestyle, and less about salvation of others.

To conclude, we must know who Jesus is for ourselves, and through that personal relationship our lives will began to change. Most Christian assume that denying Christ can only be done with their lips but not necessarily with their actions but scriptures tells us otherwise, for faith without works is dead. Therefore your faith in Jesus Christ will and should match your deeds and actions. In Matthew chapter 7 verse 22 Jesus said “many on that day will say “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and drive out demons in your name, then he will reply, I never knew you, you who are workers of lawlessness. This simply means, these type of believers claimed to believe in Jesus but yet still practice a life of sin.

Overall family, none of us are exempt from denying Jesus Christ, as scripture confirmed Peter confessed that Jesus is Lord and yet denied him later . However, one of the most important happened after, he repented, weeped over his sin and recommitted himself to Jesus Christ. The same can be done for you and I if we have denied Jesus , we can repent, ask for forgiveness and be cleanse of all unrighteousness. Let’s continue to push forward, stay bless 😊.

Five ways to know if you are walking with God

With so many denomination in this world, a person can become confuse on which way to go or not to go, and as the is approaching more, it is vital to know that we are walking with God. And if we are walking with him, how can we know or describe it. I have come up with five simple question that can help to identify if you are walking with God. Disclaimer, the Holy Spirit is the only one that can make it possible to walk with God, therefore the person must have the spirit of God to be able to do or experience anything listed below.

  • How do you feel about God? and what type of relationship you have with him? You most likely will not walk with a stranger right, or if you do, it will be at a distance. Walking with God means to have an intimate relationship with him, he knows you and you know him, so without a personal relationship with him, you can’t truly walk with him.
  • What is your relationship with sin? are you living in sin? Sin is humanity downfall. Adam and Eve was kicked out of the Eden because they did not follow God’s command. We inherit a sinful nature that separated us from God, we became an enmity to him, until Jesus came and pay our debt in full to be reconciled.
  • Are you living by faith? Living a life of repentance? Salvation can only be obtain by faith, there’s no amount of work we can do to earn salvation. Therefore those who are sons and daughters of God will live by faith. Living by faith is to rely and depend on God, trusting in him to work in us through us to live for him. A life of repentance is denying the flesh day to day and choose to live for God by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Do you fellowship with other believers? The early church met with one another every sabbath to fellowship and to study the word. We are encourage to do the same, to not neglect the assembly as it is important in a believer life. Spiritual gifts were given to each members of the Church to help each other grow.
  • Are you sharing your faith? all believers are called to be a witness to others so everyone can partake of the goodnews, the gospel. When you truly have experienced the gospel, it’s impossible not to share with your friends, strangers, and neighbors.

Based on my personal relationship, these are the things that I have witness myself and in others as well.I hope with these five simple question, you are able to find clarity about your walk with God. If you are not sure about where you stand with God, you can start by talking to him and remember if you hear his voice, please don’t harden your heart.

Scriptures for this blog: John 6:44, Isaiah 59:2, Genesis 3:1-6, John 3:16, Romans 1:17, Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 28:16-20, Act 15:21

A heart of flesh or a heart of stone.

Have you ever asked yourself about the type of heart you have? I know its a weird question to ask, but knowing the condition of your heart says alot about if you are truly born again. John the Baptist told his followers this, I baptized you in water but the one who is to come will baptism you by fire (the Holy Spirit). Meaning, John was preparing the way for the messiah that can make real changes in people’s heart.

The only way to have a new heart is if you have been baptize by the Holy Spirit. Many people can profess they are Christians, but unless they have been born again, they can’t enter the kingdom of God. When you are baptize by the Holy Spirit, you will have a new heart, a heart of flesh and not of stone.

A heart of stone is impenetrable, stuck in his/her ways, believe in their own wisdom, live for themselves, carnal, and refuse change. The Israelite display what a stone heart looks like, for example, after God delivered them from Egypt, split the red sea, and gave them food from heaven, majority of them turned away and made their own god to worship, complain and wished to go back to Egypt. Despites of everything God has done, their hearts were still of stone.

Before receiving a new heart from God, we must first understand the river of life flow through the heart, in other word, everything start at the heart. So if you heart is wicked, wicked attributes will follow, if your heart is good, then goodness attributes will follow. One thing we must understand is that everyone heart is wicked, evil, and sinful. As the apostle Paul put it, we all have fallen short of the glory of God.

The purpose of receiving a new heart from God is for us to reflect his character, walk in his ways, to be like Jesus and a witness to the world. As the sinful being that we are, for us to be like Christ, we must be born again, we have to be of the same spirit as Christ and walk in truth, the word of God.

The heart of flesh set you apart from the world, although people can’t see you heart but your actions, deeds, and lifestyle will reflect your heart. The book of Ezekiel chapter 36 describe the process of a new heart, which says “26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  27I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” God gives you a new heart through his spirit. With this new heart, you can actually live for God, and not see his ways as a burden but as light and easy. This gift is available to everyone who repent and accept Jesus for the remission of sin. What a great news family, to know we can escape God’s wrath and have eternal life. I hope this post help you to realize where you stand with God accept his gift if you haven’t.

To conclude, we all was born with a heart of stone but through Jesus sacrifice, God can create in us a new heart. I have listed three ways down below how to identify if you have a new heart. I hope this bless you and don’t forget to comment and share this blog.

Three ways to know if you have a new heart:

  1. Relationship with God through Christ- John 14:6

2. Do you want to keep God’s commandments and are you keeping them John 14:24

3. Do you have a hunger for the word, the presence of God, hating sin, life of repentance, and the love for his people. Ephesians 6:17, Matthew 18:9

Should I still be reading the Old Testament 🧐

Up until a year ago, the old testament was old news to me. I never truly invested in the studies or thought it would be helpful in my generation. Blinded by my own wisdom, I said bye bye to the old testament and hello to the new testament. For awhile now I was pretty okay until I realize there were some holes in my doctrine. During the time that I would study the new testament, I find myself not understanding the roots of the scriptures the writer would use as reference for better explanation. After years of not truly understanding the bible, I finally asked God to give me the desire for his word, to study the whole Bible. As I began to read the old testament, I begin to fully understand the new testament. The old testament filled in the gap or the areas that I didn’t understand. Overall, I develop a much more appreciation for the bible. Therefore, I wholeheartedly believe all believers should read the old testament and the new testament. I want to hear from you family, please comment below if you think we should read both testament or not. But before that, here are my reasons why you should read the old testament.

  1. The old testament is God’s word
  2. The old testament was written for us as an example for what is to come in our generation
  3. We can learn from their success and failures
  4. Jesus is in the old testament
  5. to learn wisdom, knowledge and navigation for life

I hope this post was helpful to you. Stay bless 😊

His ways, My plans!

God is faithful to reveal his ways to us but it’s our decision to make it our plans. In the bible God shows his ways to mankind through the commandments, the law, statues and ordinances. Nonetheless, situations and circumstances can happen which it can either bring us closer to the word or further, again your choice.

The book of Nehemiah is one of my favorite example that reflect the importance of the law. I am not sure if you are familiar with the story but it focus on the aftermath from the Israelites captivity. Nehemiah, with many workers worked for 52 days on rebuilding the city of Jerusalem. On the opening day all the tribes was gathered as they read the book of the law. Can you say intense, hearing the word of God for the first time since captivity and by the way, that was seven month. Seven month of not hearing anything from God or meditating on the word of God. They were weeping, filled with grief and sadness.

After the weeping and crying, Nehemiah, Ezra and the levites told the people ” This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep.” Then Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”….

Great, now what does that mean, it means They wanted the people to know that because they have heard the word of God, it signifies a good day and God was pleased with that, so let his joy be their strength. There you have it family, this post serve you as a reminded if you just started reading God’s word again and you find yourself, weeping, and filled with sadness, remember ” The Joy of the Lord is your strenght”.

To further your study, please read the book of Nehemiah, stay bless 😊

Simple Truth. Do you know it

As evilness continue to increase in this world, I found myself hanging on this simple truth, Jesus is coming back. Hear me out my friend, I am not blind to this world evilness or wickedness, but because of it, I cling on even more to this simple truth. Jesus is coming back!

I have to come to realize that if we don’t hold on to that truth then something else will take hold of us. Our anger would cause us to sin, our emotions would cause us to question the sovereignty of God and we would begin to live in fear and not by faith. So join me today and for the rest of our days to come to accept and believe this simple truth, Jesus is coming back.

Please read these scriptures below as an encourangement to keep running this race. Our battle is not flesh and blood, so put on the full armor of God.

John 16:33 New King James Version (NKJV)

33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Matthew 28:20 New King James Version (NKJV)

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [a]Amen.

John 11:25 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

How to keep going when you don’t know where you are going.

I remember couple of days after I posted my first video online I immediately started thinking, what’s next, how am I going to keep this up and what do I do next. Although, God had call me to do this, I was still unsure about my day to day post. As I was contemplating about everything, I remembered the story of Noah when God told him to build the ark. As I recall the story, God gave noah specific instruction on how he wants the ark to be built, however, God never told Noah his day to day routine. He didn’t tell Noah to wake up at 5 am and work on the windows, or work on the decks in the afternoon at least not according to scriptures. Even so, Noah made sure to follow God’s command and did as he requested.

I say all that because many time God’s has called us to do something and immediately we think, how am I going to keep this up and what do I do next. Let’s put things into perspective, Noah was chosen by God because he walked with God, and he was perfect in his generation. Why? because he wasn’t doing evil things or participated in wickedness. So we see because Noah, was the only one seeking after God, the covenant was made through him. I say that to you to remind you that God does the calling, therefore, trust that he will make provisions for you.

Another example is the apostle, Paul. Jesus didn’t give Paul a day to day instructions but he told him that he will be ministering to the gentiles. Side note- I used these two man because they are opposite from one another. Noah knew the Lord and Saul (Paul) persecuted the people who knew the Lord.

So what does Noah and Paul have in common and how were they able to fulfill the tasks before them without a day to day guide? The answer is : they draw near to God. Both man were in different generation, and in different task, however, same solution applied. James 4:  8Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.9Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Noah and Paul seek the Lord face day to day and through that they were able to fulfill their purpose. Even when they face difficulty as scripture stated, they still persevere. That is the same way with us, whatever God has called you to do, the way to complete it is to draw near to him everyday.

To end, God can give you a specific day to day instruction or he can give you a specific task however he is with you in both time. In both scenarios we are commanded to draw near to him, why? because through that he will strengthen us, correct us, change us, mold us and renew our spirit to keep going. So my friend, never forget to draw near to God and, never forget to ask him for wisdom.

Stay Bless 😊

Psalm 119:105-112 King James Version (KJV)

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I wonder if I am doing this right? Let’s find out.

The Bible says all believers must live by the spirit and walk in the spirit but how do you do that? Is it possible? and if it is how do we know we are actually doing it.

For so long, I’ve read

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

However, I never practically understood what it meant. You know how you read something in the Bible and your just took it as a good advice but not necessarily practical advice. Well this one is practical advice. Why? Because that’s what set us apart from the world. If there’s not difference between believers and non believers then Jesus death was in vain.

Three question you should be asking yourself on a day to day to see if you are living by the spirit and walking in the spirit.

Who are you allowing to lead today? The Flesh or The Spirit.

If we don’t decide or be intentional about the Holy Spirit leading us then automatically the flesh will take control. You see, the flesh doesn’t need you to say “you’re in control today” it will automatically assume control. This is why the Bible says to put the deeds of the flesh to death. Example; when you want to call your friends to gossip, you have to put that deed to death. Why? Because you know God says, to not be a busy body, gossipers and going from house to house to gossip.

Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

How do I continue to let the Holy Spirit lead me?

The Holy Spirit led Jesus to the wilderness and while there Jesus was fasting and in prayer. After 40 days in the wilderness, the devil came to tempt him right when he was becoming hungry. Jesus was able to overcome all the temptation because of the relationship he had with the father. It is the same way with us, if we want the Holy Spirit continue to lead us that mean we must stay in communication with God and also reading the word.

How does that look in a practical way? Example: I talk to my husband everyday, even when we have busy day, slow days, crazy days and sad days. Our conversation is not always the same, but we make sure we are here for one another. It is the same with God, somedays are better than others but you never stop approaching his throne, making your request be known unto him, asking for help, grace and strenght.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What happen if I fail?

This christian life is without failure, so if we fail, don’t stay there, get up and try again until you get it right. The amazing thing is the Holy Spirit is our helper and comforter, so we are not alone. We maybe pressed on every side but we are not defeated for God is on our side.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I hope this post was clear with understanding on how to live for God. Stay bless 😊

Food and Christianity.

The longest a person can survive without food is three weeks according to Food provides nutrients, fuel and the growth we need to keep functioning. Now what does food have to do with Christianity, you asked? Scripture tell us that our body is a temple for God, a living sacrifice (1 Corinthians 6:19) so if we truly believe that verse, then we should be taking care of body. Meaning, we should be conscious about what we put in our body. Why? it can and will affect the work you and I are called to do.

Before you wonder off, this post is not an advertisement for you to become vegan or to join a specific diet but instead it’s on the importance of having a healthy lifestyle as you fulfill the calling on your life. According to food can affect your mood, productivity, emotions, health, and skins. For example, certain food can make you tired, sleepy and lack of energy, whereas certain food can increase energy, boost your metabolism and endorphins . So, if food can affect your body then it can definetly affect your works.

Imagine a pastor who has a poor eating habit, he eats all type of food which makes him tired, lack of energy and unmotivated. Although he is called to ministry, he is having a hard time to stay up to finish his sermon, lack of motivation, and his health is getting worse etc. All those things affecting him will eventually affect the congregation as well. Don’t get me wrong, unhealthy food is not the only thing that can affect this but it does play an important part. Nonetheless, God can still use this pastor to deliver a message but that shouldn’t enable him to stay unhealthy.

God wants us to be healthy and proficient in our callings. And as believers we should also want to be healthy and profiency as we continue on the tasks set before us. So take a food and health assessment and make the necessary change to improve your health. And don’t worry, you are not alone, as I also struggled with my weight for quite sometime. You see when God brought me into ministry, he has also open my eyes to see my unhealthy eating habits with the desire to make a change and that is what i am also hoping for you after reading this post.

To conclude, this post is not to fat shame you or make you feel guilty about your weight but instead to open your eyes on the impact food has on us. With that being said, food is not above God or his power, however, the things we put in our body can affect the productivity of our work for God.

Stay bless 😊

Church Hurt! Is it me, you or maybe all of us.

Church hurt can happen to anyone, from visitors, to long time members, part time members and seasonal members. It doesn’t discriminate and it can also prevent believers from continuing going to church. Because church hurt happens to the most of us, its important to know how and why church hurt happened? can it be prevented and how to deal with it.

Three reason why church hurt happens:

sin, leadership conflict, expectations.

As believers we are called to overcome sin and not allowing it to control our lives, however when we are not doing that personally as a body we will continue to hurt one another. Example, not dealing with our anger, jealousy, hatred, lust, and envious, can affect the whole body.

Jesus came to us not to be served but to serve us, to show us the way and what it really means to be a a leader. In my own experiences, I have seen leaders live a double life, look down on people and have a lack of compassion for others. But I have also seen some great leaders who genuinely care about people’s growth. So you see we have good leaders and also bad leaders. Therefore it is important to know and understand how to lead so you won’t be carelessly hurt the church family.

As believers, we have this expectation that church is nothing but roses and the only place that can’t hurt us. The church is filled with sinners who became saints through Jesus Christ. The reality is although we became saints, we sometime still have sinner tendencies. Therefore when you give that expectation to God because you realize only him who is good then you can began to bear with one another and give each other room to grow and flourish.

Can you prevent Church hurt?

Yes and No

As we are growing in Christ we can prevent church hurt to some extent but we can’t control church hurt. The reason is because, as much as you are allowing the Holy Spirit to work in you, the outside world is out of your control which is why we have to understand the real enemy. Scripture tell us in

Ephesians 6:12 New King James Version

12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places“.

So, the real enemy has never been each other but instead what is mention in scriptures. However, because we are not carrying our cross daily, and dying to self, it will be hard for us to realize the real enemy.

After we realize the real enemy then we need to armor up.

The Whole Armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-11

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil

To conclude, church hurt can happen the first time you visit a friend church or at your home church. However, don’t let that stop you from attending church, growing with the body of Christ and being the best version of ourselves. I leave you with this verse

Galatians 6:2-10 New King James Version (NKJV)

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.

Five powerful prayer you should know about.

Prayer is essential in the christian walk, for it provides comfort, healing, and joy. As we face things in life, it is important to have a open line of communication with God to receive what we need to be victorious. While on earth, Jesus made sure he stayed in communication with God until the very end to show us the way we ought to be in life. The apostles also remind to us in the bible, over and over again the importance of prayer as they faced difficulties, trials and persecution.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 says “Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” In other words, you’re having problems, pray, you’re having the best life, pray, so whatever season you’re in we are reminded to pray. The apostles prayed when they were in prison, harsh situations and during persecution because prayer is the lifeline they need to get through the situation.

When you have a prayer life, you will witness its power which will encourage you to keep praying even if things don’t look in your favor. I have listed five powerful prayer in the Bible that will encourage you to pray.

Five Powerful Prayer in the Bible

Hannah’s Prayer

And Hannah prayed and said:

“My heart rejoices in the Lord;
My [a]horn is exalted in the Lord.
[b]I smile at my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

“No one is holy like the Lord,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.

“Talk no more so very proudly;
Let no arrogance come from your mouth,
For the Lord is the God of knowledge;
And by Him actions are weighed.

“The bows of the mighty men are broken,
And those who stumbled are girded with strength.
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread,
And the hungry have ceased to hunger.
Even the barren has borne seven,
And she who has many children has become feeble.

“The Lord kills and makes alive;
He brings down to the grave and brings up.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
He brings low and lifts up.
He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the beggar from the ash heap,
To set them among princes
And make them inherit the throne of glory.

“For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
And He has set the world upon them.
He will guard the feet of His saints,
But the wicked shall be silent in darkness.

“For by strength no man shall prevail.
10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces;
From heaven He will thunder against them.
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.

“He will give strength to His king,
And exalt the [c]horn of His anointed.”

Elijah Stops the Rain

17 Now Elijah the Tishbite was a prophet from the settlers in Gilead. “I serve the Lord, the God of Israel,” Elijah said to Ahab. “As surely as the Lord lives, no rain or dew will fall during the next few years unless I command it.”

Paul and Silas Prayer

Acts 16:25-34 King James Version (KJV)

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Jabez Prayer 1 Chronicles 4:10

10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

The Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13 New International Version (NIV)

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]

I hope these verses inspire you to stay in prayer and keep pushing forward.

Such as creating a new schedule to help you ease back to life and society. Others may try to catch up with time by participating in all type of activities. While some will change, for good or the bad. At the end of this pandemic, it can feel like a new year but with less time. However, with all that being said even if it takes us sometime to get back to normal, what are you going back to? Are you going back to God because you realize you wasn’t truly saved? Are you going back to the job you hated? Or are you going back to being depressed?

In the book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar made a new rule that everyone must bow down and worship the golden image, no expection. As expected, Daniel continued with his daily devotion to God. So how was Daniel able to still carryon with his daily prayer to God?

If your mind has gone there, and you know what there is, let me just clarify. This post is not a confirmation for you to disobeyed the order that came from the government to social distancing and temporary closing churches. As we should know, scripture tell us to follow the law of the land with the exception if the law is in conflict to God’s law.

Daniel was able to remain devoted to God because he was devoted to Him from the beginning. He didn’t start when the hard time came but instead he continue the work. Let’s compare that statement with our current situation, ———–what did you do before quarantine time, did you spend time with God on a regular?, were you eating healthy before this started? lastly, did you have structure before this new schedule?. ———–The answer is, whatever you were doing before this pandemic you will most likely continue to do it. 😶 This is not to say that you will not adjust and move few things around but for the most part, the important things will stay the same. Therefore, if you were truly committed to God you will continue to be so, even more, if you were eating healthy and exercising before quarantine you will find a way to do the same and lastly if you were organized before, you will push yourself to keep a structure while you are quarantine.

On that account, bad time doesn’t bring new habits, but instead it reveals habits you already have. You’re not going to suddenly eat healthy because you’re in quarantine or spend time with God because you finally have the “time” to do but instead you will continue as is and hope for a different outcome.

We all want to be saved, healthy and successful but all of that will not come without a price, commitment, self control and discipline. This quarantine has shown me that if you were committed before this started, you will remain committed in the middle and after it all. That being so, use this quarantine time to reflect on your habits and most importantly open your eyes to deal with the habits you have. I say all of that because I hope you don’t come back from this quarantine the same but instead a stronger person and the only way you can do that is with Christ.

Please leave your comments, I would love to hear from you. Stay Bless 😇😊

Church during the Coronavirus

For the past couple of weeks things have change rapidly; we went from reminding people to wash their hands, to the government shutting down schools, churches and businesses to prevent this virus from spreading. And yes! I am still trying to figure out why people are buying bulk of toilet paper 😳. Nontheless this post is not about how to survive homeschooling for the next couple of days or what tv show to binge watch during quarantine time but instead it is to remind you that you are a living sanctuary aka the church.

The book of Chronicles illustrate a visual of the temple where God’s dwell. King Solom was precise with the detailing of the temple such as the type of gold, appliances and how the floor would look like. The reason is, the temple served as the physical place where God would dwell and hear his people at a all time as he would forgive and restore them. If you think back of the some of the verses in the book of Psalm, you always find David qouting how he long to dwell in the temple of God. Sound familiar 😃, Good.

The temple that was built for God by men, was a foreshadow of what is to come. Jesus came to fulfilled that prophesy and build a temple that will last forever. (Sidenote: if you like the book of Hebrew, then you should definetly read the book of Chronicles.)

1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

That’s right, God’s spirit which is the Holy Spirit lives in us, we are a living tabernacle😇. Therefore, since the physical place where you meet is close, you can still have church at home. Scriptures tell us that in Matthew 18 verse” 20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Jesus is assuring us that he is here with us even if its only three of us. And if Christ is there then we know God is there because Jesus and the father are one.

So have service at home with your family, pick topic to have a sermon on, do bible study, have an open discussion and most importantly worship God who is the author and finisher of your faith. Stay bless 😊

I win, you lose.

For a long time I believed that if God’s will was done in my life, then it means I got the short hand of the stick, that God didn’t care about my wants, needs or desires. When I was writting this blog, the Holy Spirit kept bringing me back to the story of Adam and Eve, precisely when the serpent convinced Eve that God didn’t want them to be like a god and they would know good and evil . You know the end of the story, Eve ate the forbidden fruit and boom the fall of humanity. I feel like that how’s my life has been going, I keep falling for the enemy lies instead of trusting God’s will for my life.

Have that happened to you, where you know God’s will is better but yet you find a way to do your own will. You know his plan is to give you a new life and yet you can’t seem to get out of your old one. You are not alone for It has been the same for me for a long time. I put my plans, desires and wants above God’s will and that resulted in me pushing him away and doing own thing.

When Jesus lived among us, he made sure to tell the disciples and the Pharisees that he came to do God’s will and not his. He continued telling them he came from heaven to do the work of God so that humanity would believe and be saved. So what is the will of God?

The will of God is whatever God has called you to do, to be direct, the work God has call you to do. Now please understand we share a common work but we all have a unique work or will God has assigned in our lives.

God’s will, not my plan

I didn’t want God’s will to be done because I didn’t have a genuine experience/relationship with him. Without a genuine relationship, you can’t fully trust that God’s plan is not to hurt you, or to deceive you but it is instead to give you a better, and brighter future. You know God’s character based on scriptures but its through experiences with him you will come to trust him.

This new shift in my relationship with God help me to be at ease with his will in my life. I am no longer afraid or concern about my future because I know who God is and I trust he will work everything out my for my good.

To conclude, it is a blessing for God’s will to be done in our lives. For his plans is never to hinder us or forsaken us, but it is to give us life, abundantly. I hope you began to start trusting God today with your life, wants, needs and desires.

After reading this post, three question you need to answer for yourself: why don’t I trust God, his word and promises?

Let’s talk about your bless life.

Family pictures, career updates, and falling in love, are some of social media post that indicate “I’m blessed”. And if you want everyone else to know it, don’t forget the hashtag #blessed. You know it’s true! Nothing scream I’m blessed better than these posts. Now, there’s nothing wrong with posting these type of content and if we are honest, we all have these post on our social media, however is it the same thing in the Bible when it comes to being blessed.

Things to think about!

Singleness or Marriage? who is more blessed?

Do you think there’s a difference between world blessed and God’s blessed? Are they the same or a combination?

🚨🛑 This post is not about criticizing what you have or don’t have but instead it is about gaining a new perspective on the word blessed according to scriptures.

First: nonbelievers also have families, careers, found love, and can also be a great help to the environment and community. So are these things the standard for a bless life?

Second: a blessed life has nothing to do with your status, married, or single, it also has nothing to do with how much stuff you have, the access you have or your accomplishments.

Let’s see what the bible says about who is blessed.

Matthew 5:

3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.

While meditating on these scripture I realize that a blessed life is about the transformation work God is doing in your life. He is molding you to be who has called you to be, a son and daughter and that’s how you know you are blessed.

After reading these scriptures, how do you view your life?

do you still feel the same way about the word #blessed ?

Next time you measure how blessed you are based on what you have, think of Matthew 5.

When things are going well it’s easy to accept it as the blessed life. However, a biblical blessed life is not based on what you have or don’t have but instead it is based on the transformation God is doing in your life. Though it might seem impossible because of the difficulty in life, always remember, you are not without hope for God’s spirit is living inside of you.

In addition, Jesus didn’t have riches on earth or be the king the jews expected, but he did something beyond that, he did the father’s will. Isn’t that the ultimate goal, to be obedient to God’s will, to live a life pleasing to him. So let us never forget the true meaning of living a blessed life as we go on our day. I hope this post brough some clarity on what it means to have a blessed life. Please leave your thoughts. Stay blessed!

Christianity and Minimalism

I consider myself pretty simple, and easy going, but after some self evaluation, I realize I may not have been as simple as I thought. I heard of minimalism sometime last year but I didn’t look into it until this past week or so and why not blog about it. But in all seriousness, based on the meaning of minimalism, I am curious to live that lifestyle or at least consider some of the ideas behind this movement. And of course as a believer I wanted to make sure this new lifestyle doesn’t contradict my faith and the bible. So let’s take a look on what it means to live a minimalist lifestyle and the ideas behind minimalism.

A minimalist is person who likes to keep things simple in all aspect of their lives. According to is all about living with less. This includes less financial burdens such as debt and unnecessary expenses. … For many minimalists, the philosophy is about getting rid of excess stuff and living life based on experiences rather than worldly possessions.” Sound pretty cool right! I mean who does not want unnecessary expenses, and living a debt free life. So I did the next best thing, I YouTube it and I found tons of information on how to start my journey. Check it out!

My Journey so far….

The first thing I realize is that, I did not have a simple lifestyle at home, my home was cluttered, started from my kitchen to my wardrobes, and other materialistic things. I realize I purchased things out of impulse, assuming that it would make me happy, or change what I feel inside, but it only left me with a crowded closet, and overload of unused products.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:19 to not store up treasure on earth, but instead to store your treasure in heaven, why? Because treasure on earth can be destroyed, gone and stolen by thieves. After some deep conversations with myself, I realize I was storing treasure on earth such as my clothes, shoes and beauty products. I mean who needs 10 pair of jeans, 3 sets of makeup brushes, and 6 beauty blenders.

All these things did not add anything in my life, but it did take away my money, space and time. Please understand I am not against of having a few pair of jeans or makeup because I do still have those things, but now I don’t put them on a high pedestal and I definitely prefer quality over quantity.

Contentment with less

Here comes that word again creeping at my door, making me question the type of relationship I have with my clothes, asking myself weird question but not so weird, like does my clothes own me or do I own them. Before the transition, I took a look at my closet, suddenly I’ve had anxiety and I didn’t even know I had anxiety 😅. My shoe rack was falling apart because it was overloaded with shoes and dresses that’s been on the hanger for too long.

My impulsive shopping and my ” self-care” routine was the reason behind these things mention above. My routine decisions led me to become a hoarder, lover of unnecessary things and unhappy. As I decluttered my closet, I am reminded that I brought nothing into this world, and I will leave with nothing so if I have food and clothing, I should be content with that.  Well, you might say, there’s nothing wrong with having things, which is true but when your value is based on having things and these things becomes your comfort and happiness then there’s a problem.

Minimalism is not Christianity

The Bible does not mention minimalism but it does emphasis on living a simple and full life. Jesus spoke on people selling their possessions, to give to the poor and to follow him. One can argue, I don’t have a lot of things, I am not rich but living a simple lifestyle have nothing to do with being poor or rich. It simply means you are content with living with less, not depending on things to make you happy. If you take the time to look you will find that you have more than you think. To conclude, I chose to start living a minimalist lifestyle to help me focus on relationships and not materialism, and to create an stress-free environment for my family. Do I still own stuff, absolutely, but they no longer own me. Check out my pictures goal for our home.

have you consider living a minimalist lifestyle? comment below.

Goodness, Faithfulness, and Kindness.

What is the reason behind your deeds or works? do you do it out of righteousness, obligation, or personal code ? This week we are talking about goodness, faithfulness and kindness to end our fruit of the Spirit series. Let’s dig in.

Whenever I think of the word goodness, I think of psalm 23, “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life”. I used to think goodness was all about feeling good, you know the warm feeling you have inside when you think about God, but as I reflect on this week fruit, I realize how wrong I was. Goodness is not a feeling but instead it is when your deeds or works is motivated by righteousness. You can summarize it with this phrase ” holiness in action”, or in plain language you become a blessing to someone. Knowing the true meaning of this fruit put the right perspective when reading the psalms or any verses in the Bible because I know the intention of God’s heart and it is never to harm me but to bless me. Example of goodness is giving to the poor, feeding the homeless, confronting someone about sin, praying for the enemy and visiting the sick.

If you can’t be faithful to God, then you most likely can’t be faithful with others on earth. Faithfulness has to do with having faith in God, consistency, following through with what you believe and not giving up in the hard time. We can’t be faithful to God with our own strength or will, but if we trust in him, the Holy Spirit will help us to be faithful. Once you understand the importance of faithfulness to God then the Holy Spirit can help you to be faithful to others. 1Thessalonians 5:24 says, “He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it” . So we never have to worry about if God can do it, because He will.

Are you a kind person? well, I just realize I am not as kind as I claim to be when studying for this week fruit. God has revealed to me that kindness doesn’t mean having a nice attitude or to be pleasant. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s important to be nice and pleasant but these things don’t always mean that you are useful. Smiling when the person is struggling to open the door does not reflect your kindness. Driving by when you see your friends standing in the rain waiting for the bus will not reflect “your kind heart”. Kindness is the compassion we have for others that lead us to be useful, to do something to help them with no expectation. God showed his kindness when he provided salvation to us because it was free. God’s kindness protects us when we are afraid, as he wraps us up under his wing, and he helps us breathe when we’re being kicked by life’s trouble. God’s kindness lead us to repentance. Because of the Kindness God has towards us, we can learn how to be kind to others.

Pour in, Pour out.

We all wake up differently, some wake up tired from a long night or not enough sleep,  while others wake up refresh and renewed. Despite on how we wake up, we all can have peace and joy in our lives. How? You must start with the condition of your heart because that is where peace and joy begin. By answering these two question, you can begin your peace and joy process.   Are you at peace with God through Jesus? and have you made the joy of the Lord your strength to be victorious daily?

Sound the alarm!

Are you a lukewarm Christian? Do you have a relationship with God? does he know you? and are you living a life pleasing to him? I have asked myself those question so many time and during those time I found myself more confuse because of the type of relationship I had with God.

The type of relationship I am referring to is a lukewarm believer, hot and cold as the Bible describe it. This type of relationship with God doesn’t happen overnight, but instead it happens overtime based on the decision you and I make daily. I listed some of the patterns I had to break through to have a better relationship with God, let me know if you can relate.

These are the patterns I had to break through.

  • No one can live a life pleasing to God.—–2nd Peter 1:3 His divine power have given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who has called by his own glory and goodness.

  • The way you know if you have overcome a sin is to go back to it and see if you are tempted by it again. —— James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
  • It’s not that big of deal, God will forgive me——–Hebrew 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.
  • I’m young, I need to enjoy life before I can truly commit my life to God. —-Ecclesiastes 12:1 Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”

1 John 1:9, KJV: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance. Romans 5:3

How long can you endure hardship? do you quickly react when you are being provoked? can you bear with others when they don’t see things your way? Based on your answer you can have an idea where you stand for this week fruit. The fruit longsuffering requires you to move beyond your strength by not relying on what you see but instead on the rewards that comes with waiting on God.  Jesus demonstrate what it means to experience long suffering as he hangs on the cross with the power to the end it all but choose not. He was provoked, ridicule and went through physical pain so we can become right with God and through the power of the Holy Spirit we can live a life pleasing to him. Please check out this video.

Scriptures for this video:

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Ephesians 4:2 – With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

Exodus 34:6 – And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

Hebrews 4:15 – For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

The fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness

The fruit of the spirit gentleness is about giving God control over our words, thoughts and understanding. Gentleness doesn’t mean you don’t deal with problems firmly or not able to be stern when you need to be but instead its about balance, knowing when to be kind, merciful or gentle and knowing when to be harsh as we all need tough love. The bible shows us different scenario when Jesus showed gentleness and harsh treatments. As believers we are called to do the same by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Check out the audio-video on gentleness.

Scriptures for the video:

Matthew 11:29, 18:23-35, 21:5 Philippians 4:5, Proverbs 3:34, Ephesians 4: 14-16, Isaiah 55:9, Job 38:4, 1 John 3:20, Psalm 44:21 2Timothy: 2 24-25, Philippians 1:15-18, John 3:30, Galatians 6:1, 1 Corinthians 4:21

“A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭25:28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Self control is essential in a Christian life; without self control you will not be able to live a life pleasing to God. The great news is, the Holy Spirit produce in us a regenerate heart that leads to living life by the spirit. As we live by the spirit we will bear fruit. Check out this video and feel free to share it.

Drama ends with you or start with you.

I never used to considered myself as an drama person until one of my friend asked me this simple question “why are you always in the middle of the drama” ouch right. In other word, she reminded me that I’ve been there before, being part of the drama and most importantly why am I sill in it. Although I didn’t start this particular drama, it didn’t end with me either. Plain and simple, I didn’t put a stop to it. So ask yourself this question, are you putting a stop to drama or are you adding to it?

Three ways to stop the drama from coming to your door step.

🚨Stop hanging around people who loves drama . I know it’s not easy but part of not adding on top of the drama is also based on your surroundings. Now, I am not saying to rudely tell these people they are horrible human being but instead make a mental notes of who’s who. We know the people in our lives who always have the tea or the latest drama.

🚨 How do you carry yourself? believe it or not people know who to gossip to and who will not entertain it. I am not saying to be disrespecful or rude but people can tell who’s who.

🚨If drama find a way to sneak into your life, don’t add on top of it. Meaning don’t add perhaps something that happened to you 10 years to the story that can add fuel and don’t go tell sam and harry about what you’ve heard.

With all that being said, all these things can’t happen without you going to God in prayer first, to be homest about how you truly feel about drama. And remember you are not alone, I had to do the same thing, that I liked drama, and the excitement it brought me. In this journey, I have learn you can’t be free from something you afraid to admit you like, so be free in Jesus name.

I hope this post is helpful and stay bless.

Galatians 5:15-16 However, if you continually bite and devour one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another. But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 Also, make it your goal to live quietly, do your work, and earn your own living, as we ordered you.

Proverbs 26:17 17 Interfering in someone else’s argument
is as foolish as yanking a dog’s ears.

New Year but the same You.

The new year 2020 is only a few days away and you probably already have your vision board, goals charts, and journals ready to tackle the new year. As you are writing down the things you want to accomplish never forget that God is the one that turns your plans into reality. With that being said here are three verse to empower you during this upcoming adventure.

Scriptures for 2020

1. “So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:20, 24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

2. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

3. “ And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I hope this new year bring you closer to God, closer to your family, and closer to your dreams.

Let’s go back to the future.

Life can get so crazy with all the million things you have to do, that you can begin to feel as if you are not living life to your full potential. You start to feel like everyone else around you are living, except you. That was me couple of month ago, I was a lost puppy chasing its tail. One season I would know what to do and the next season I didn’t know where to begin. Feeling lost is frustrating and uncomfortable, however; I never stop asking God about my purpose, the meaning of my life and how to walk in it. Fun fact! you will know if you are walking in your purpose.

I recently receive a revelation that finding your purpose is a journey and not a one-day event. Meaning, God reveal your purpose in stages, and as you grow in him, he began to reveal more of it until the final scene.  When you know your purpose life feels different, you see things different and you approach things different. And I can finally understand what that feels like today as God has revealed his purpose for me. Now, before this revelation, I participated in different church ministry, such as Sabbath school, bible study etc., but I was not complete. Even so, those ministries all play a part of discovering my purpose, which is to be a witness.

A witness consists of sharing the Gospel, your faith, the word of God, his ways and his requirement. I used to think every Christian can wake up and be a witness because they want to, but now I realize it is God that call the individual to witness. You and I can’t witness in our own will, or strength but instead it is the Holy Spirit that empowers us and make us bold to step out even when we are in danger. Jesus told his disciples they will receive the Holy Ghost with power and then they shall be witnesses of him everywhere. The apostles would go to different cities because that’s how they were able to preach the Gospel in their time. Now in the 21st century the internet is one of the best way to share the Gospel, so I am witnessing to the world the way that I can.

Are you a pastor?

I am not a pastor or would claim to be one. I am just sharing the good news about Christ through my social media with every opportunity I have. I want to encourage believers to live a life pleasing to God by living life in the spirit. Reminding the world that judgement day is coming and hoping they will accept the truth. The Holy Spirit has also giving me spiritual gifts that connect to my purpose such as teaching, prophesying and encouragement.

When you are not being intentional about your life, the enemy will convince you that you are not living your best life. I lived in the past for the most of my present life, wishing things could be as they were once was. An easy life, I used to say. I used to say, I missed my simple life, no marriage, no children, no responsibilities and little to no conscience. During that time I taught I was alive, believing I was living my best life. But I never felt more alive until I started walking in my purpose. So I ask you today, what is the best life, is it when you’re single, rich, famous, married, having children or none of those things. You see, just because you have these things mention doesn’t mean you are living the best life or vice versa. Living your best life is not based on these things for they are just by product of living in purpose.

What’s your flavor?

We all like a particular flavor and I don’t mean chocolate or vanilla, but instead I am referring to the different type of distractions that are keeping you from living for God. By definition distraction is when something is preventing you from giving your full attention to someone or something. The worst type of distraction is the one you don’t even considered as one, you’ve become so distracted that you eventually become lost. Your distraction can be social media, relationship, wealth and even church ministry. The consequences of that is less time with God, backsliding to sin, and not living life to the fullest. I am writing this post because for years I have been distracted and in those years the same thing I described happened to me and I pretend not to notice. I am hoping this post will shine some light in your current situation.

  • Distraction can come from church within your ministry. In the gospel of Luke, Jesus went to Martha and Mary’s house for dinner and while Martha was busy and being distracted by all the work that need to be done in the kitchen, Mary, her sister was at Jesus feet listening to him talk. Martha question her sister and was concerned to why she would leave her to do all the work, and Jesus answered, Martha has chosen well. As an old ministry leader I used to overwork myself, neglecting spending time with God because of the work that need to be done. Sabbath was no longer a rest day but instead a working day. My ministry became a distraction for me, so I was everywhere at church except with God.
  • Busy life can also be an distraction. You make time for what is important to you. I used to complain about my spiritual life and how I felt so distant from God. However, I made time for my husband, children, friends, social events and definitely social media. The reality is, I had time for everything and everyone except for God and the reason is because I didn’t want to. I was okay with a long distant relationship with God.
  • Relationships can be a slippery slope to distraction. The bible tell us to not be unequally yoke with unbelievers and urges us to understand that light has nothing in common with darkness. The wrong crowd will lead you down the wrong path. If you are hanging out with people that live to sin and have no remorse then you most likely will be influence to do the same. Because of my desire to be close with God, I had to make certain adjustments in the relationship I have with others.
  • Wealth, fame, and social media. The world will promise you that if you work hard then you can have wealth, the followers along with fame. You begin to do things that compromise your values and morals just to have theses things. As a result your value starts to depend on having these things instead of it coming from God. You forget how easy these things can be gone, so you gain the world by losing your soul.

To sum up, distraction is all around us which can make it difficult to live for God but not impossible. That simply mean living for God is for the poor, the rich, the famous, and the regular folks as long as you are walking in God’s purpose. The bible says, a time is appointed for men to live, to die and to face judgement, so we all have a set time and in that time, God has giving us a purpose. Look mom, I can fly now.

After my husband and I got married in 2014, we started thinking about increasing our family; we were already a year in our marriage so we decided it was the right time to have children. I started thinking about what type of mother I would be, the cool mom, strict parent, in-between, or a Christian mom. I never extensively taught about what it mean to be Christian mom, assuming it would come natural to me since I am one. In my early years, I did grow up in a Christian household but my parents never talk about the sinful life, what it means to love God and living life in the spirit. Now, I am not blaming my parents, because maybe they did know how to talk about these things or even reach that part of spiritual growth, who knows, but I am a parent now, so no guilt trip.

The type of relationship I have with God now as a parent is different from when I was single and when I got married. I now begin to understand God from a parent point of view, which takes my relationship with him to a different level. When I became pregnant with our first son, Logan, I prayed for him more than me as expect, and yes for him to be healthy but most importantly I desired greatly for him to be saved, to be a man of God. I used to always say to him, be happy, healthy, and saved. With our second son Abraham, I became pregnant when my husband recently lost his brother and we were all over the place dealing with grief, but God knew we needed our Abraham, a man of faith. I tell you this story so that you know, my intention for my sons to be saved started in my womb.

To the world, parenting Christian style is not consider the best option, until something happen then we all need to pray for God to intervene. Don’t get me wrong they are some Christian parents who miss the whole point of being a believer so other believers gets the bad report for it, but I am here to remind you that not all have gone astray. To continue, I want my children to know God and have a relationship with him, but I won’t push that on them, instead I want them to know him they own way. Nonetheless, I still have to do my part as a mom by planting seeds, watering them and pray for a harvest. My hope is for my husband and I to be a living example for them, to show them the right way and also the wrong way. I am not saying to intentional fail so your children can see that you are not perfect, but instead to show them that if you fail, God is faithful and willing to forgive.

The way you portrait God to your children can influence the type of relationship they will have with him now and in the future. If your child see you not spending time with God and yet still claim to have a good relationship with him, then that’s how they will associate the meaning of a good relationship. They will grow up thinking, this type of relationship is acceptable to God. This is not to say your children are doomed based on your relationship with God but to say that you are shaping the idea of who God is in they mind. As a result, you are teaching your children that God can save you but not change you which is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Another example is, committing willful sin in front of your children especially when you have instruct them otherwise. Your children need to see the gospel is alive in you from your words to your action. I can still remember till this day that my grandmother is a woman of prayer, why, because she prayed with me every morning growing up, she prayed whenever we had problems and always reminded me that God is with me. My grandmother taught me the power of prayer, and eventhough I lost my way couple of time I always came back.

To conclude, God is so amazing that he will give everyone an opportunity to have a relationship with him regardless of the background on faith. Aren’t you glad that no one can take that away from you, I know I am. Children are a gift from God and he is trusting you to guide them. You can’t save your children but you can point them in the right direction. As scripture tell us faith comes by hearing the word of God from his messenger and the great news is you are your children first messenger. You are the one to tell them that the Christian life is not easy, to encourage them when they faith are weak and to remind them of the promises of God during the difficult time. My final note to you is, parenting is hard so this post it not to guilt you or criticize your parenting style but instead to reflect on our duties as believers who happens to be parent, so cast those negative thoughts out and be the best parent God has called you to be. Stay bless 😊 and don’t forget to comment, like and definitely share this blog.

How did I get here? The Beginning.

My initial walk with God was filled with more downs than ups. No, I didn’t have any life threatening experiences but I was dead inside. I was saved, but sin ruled my life. I was a slave to my fleshly desire with little to no restraint. In my desperate time I would reach out to God for help, but I never waited long enough for Him to answer. I became an impulsive sinner.

I know! I couldn’t believe it either, I convinced myself this is the way of life. How depressing right? needless to say I was miserable, double-minded and lost. I knew God didn’t want me to live that way but how do I live life in the spirit? I did not know how to walk in the spirit let alone living life in the spirit. So I finally surrender to God for deliverance. My deliverance gave birth to this blog.  Don’t worry I am not trying to sell you tickets to a conference or recommend any books to you except the Bible.

My help is free! And I promise no strings attached. I know that sound weird in this culture but that’s the true, free, free and free. I want to help anyone who feels like they just can’t get it right, the one who’s stuck between wanting to live a life for God but finding it impossible. You know what I am talking about, feeling buried alive, being kick in the gut and doing the same thing over and over knowing where it will lead. Yep! I know the feeling. Welcome to my blog.

This blog is for you and everyone else you know. The goal is for you to overcome sin and live life in the spirit. What I want for you and I is spiritual growth accompany with laughter, tears and reflection. Sound crazy and impossible right, well it’s a good thing our God does the impossible. Nonetheless for that to happen it will take honesty and transparency about where you are in life. In other word, you have to trust God with your mess, insecurities, short comings and most importantly with your heart. Why? because out of your heart flows the issues of life. So get excited about what God is doing in your life now and the future to come. Don’t forget life is a journey and we can’t do it alone so comment and share this blog. Stay Bless 🙂

My Brief Silent Season

The Bible talks about different type of season such as sowing, and reaping, but what about the silent season, the season where you feel like all you do is wait, and wait. What do you then? do you go back to where you were before, and is God even listenining anymore?. These were the type of questions that was going through my mind couple of days ago. I felt a weakness in my spirit, as if I was far away from God, an emptiness. Although I was still in the word and prayer, I felt at a distance. I didn’t understand what was going on, however I kept pressing on with my daily task.

Couple of days after I was asked to do a prayer for our online service and I also have to pick a Scripture that would align with my prayer. I picked Psalm 34 as it relate to being content in God. I was mediating on Psalm 34 throughout that day despite of what I was feeling in my spirit. As I was reading other scripture, I landed on Psalm 145 particularly verse 18The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Immediately I started crying, although I felt a distance in me, God reminded me in his word he is not far from me. After pouring my heart out, crying, weaping and sharing things with him, I begin to realize this is the Psalm I should of picked. The whole chapter describe who God is and how he is with us and hear us. However, I decided I will praise God with the Psalm I already picked. Quickly after that, the weakness and distance in my spirit was gone and I was healed and restored.

I taught that was the end of it, until the youth leader message me and asked me to change my Psalm because someone else has already chosen it. Can you believer this, God healed me and made it possible for me to read aloud the Psalm he placed on my heart.

Friends, God is good, he is able and willing. My question to you, do you feel a weakness in your spirit, a distance from God, an emptiness. And You may not even sure how to describe it? My message to you is, God is not far from you. Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is close to the broken hearted and he save those who have a contrite spirit, the message version of that verse says, God will help you breathe if you have been kicked in the gut. So my friend, if you feel any close to what I just describe, dont give up, don’t stop reading the word, and don’t stop worshiping God despite of the distance you may feel for he is close.

Have faith, stand strong and keep pushing forward. Stay Bless 😊
